The Great Whore Has Been Revealed

The beginning of the Gentile church age was referenced in the Book of Acts.  Peter recounts the occasion in Acts chapter 11.

Acts 11:1-18 (NIV) The apostles and the brothers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him 3 and said, "You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them." 4 Peter began and explained everything to them precisely as it had happened: 5 "I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. 6 I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. 7 Then I heard a voice telling me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.' 8 "I replied, 'Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.' 9 "The voice spoke from heaven a second time, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.' 10 This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again. 11 "Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying. 12 The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man's house. 13 He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, 'Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. 14 He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.' 15 "As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17 So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?" 18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life."

Revelation chapters 2 and 3, are letters from Jesus Christ to the respective Gentile churches.

The Laodicean Church referenced in Revelation 3:14, was an actual church in the city of Laodicea. Throughout the last 2,000 years of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion, there have been individual local churches that have reflected the basic attributes and character, of one of the seven individual local churches, referenced in Revelation 2:1 through Revelation 3:22. Additionally, Judeo-Christian Organized Religion as a world-wide whole, has reflected the attributes and character of one of the individual seven churches, during sequential dispensations across the last 2,000 years.

The final church age, the one we are living in, is the Laodicean Church age, and is referenced in Revelation 3:14-19:

Revelation 3:14-19 (NIV) "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."

The singular focus and the glaring fault of the Laodicean church, is the pursuit of the accumulation of WEALTH. The Laodicean church lives and thinks exclusively in the physical realm. Their goal is to accumulate physical assets, and to be egotistically self sufficient. This church practices idolatry through self worship, and worship of materialism. These people delude themselves about their beautiful and elaborate universities, colleges, sanctuaries, buildings, and parsonages, exactly like the Jewish people deluded themselves about the Temple, at the time of Jesus Christ. This church has lost any belief that a spiritual realm even exists.

Jesus Christ directed the functions of His church in Matthew 28:18-20:

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

There is not one mention of the accumulation of wealth in Matthew 28:18-20. Wealth is not required to perform Jesus Christ's directions. In a direct contrast to the Body of Christ in Jesus Christ's day, today, the Roman Catholic Church is the richest organization in the world.

The church is the Bride of Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:2 (NIV) I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

Revelation 19:7 (NIV) Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Isaiah 62:4-5 (NIV) No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah ; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. 5 As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

A whore is a Bride who sells herself for money.  The Great Whore, is the Great Christian Church who has sold her love of Jesus Christ for money.

Hosea 9:1 (KJV) Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou has gone a whoring from thy God, thou has loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

Hosea 4:12 (KJV) My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.

The Great Whore referenced in Revelation 17:1,15 is the Roman Catholic Church:

Revelation 17:1-18 (KJV) And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. 15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

verse 1: "the great whore that sitteth upon many waters" The Roman Catholic Church is physically a world-wide organization.

verse 9:  "The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."  Rome sits on seven hills.

verse 15:  "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues" The Roman Catholic Church is both racially, and politically, a diverse international organization .

verse 5:  "THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS"  The Eastern Orthodox Church came out of the Roman Catholic Church at the time of the "Great Schism".  The Lutheran Church came out of the Roman Catholic Church under the Roman Catholic Priest, Martin Luther. The Church of England, or Anglican Church, came out of the Roman Catholic Church under King Henry the VIII, and in America became the Episcopal Church. The Methodist Church came out of the Anglican Church under two ordained Anglican Priests, John and Charles Wesley; and the Nazarene Church came out of the Methodist Church under the Methodist Minister, Phineas F. Bresee.  The very identification "Protest-ant" connects an organization to their mother, the Roman Catholic Church. They are like an adolescent who protested and rebelled against the teaching of their parents, and then grew up and became exactly like the parents they protested and rebelled against. Tragically, the MOTHER WHORE is the Roman Catholic Church, the daughter HARLOTS are the rest of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion, all of which came out of the Roman Catholic Church. Consequently, Judeo-Christian Organized Religion today is an accurate reflection of the Laodician Church, referenced in Revelation 3:14-19, printed above.

How will you know in these last days when a church crosses the line? When the focus of the church shifts from Matthew 28:18-20 (printed above) to Revelation 3:17 (printed above), it will have crossed the line. When the focus shifts from spiritual intercourse with God through faith in Jesus Christ, holy living, servant-hood, and saving those that are lost, to "acquired wealth," and "authority," that church will have become a whore.

Most of the churches in our world have already crossed the line.

Matthew 24:12 (NIV) Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

You say, "You have been very unfair with Judeo-Christian Organized Religion. You have failed to consider the wonderful things that they do. Judeo-Christian Organized Religion operates hospitals to help the sick. These hospitals have God's Holy Word printed all over the walls."

The whore does perform services. Have you considered the "bill for services rendered" when the whore finished. You will pay for every glass of water. "Non-Profit" hospitals are one of the most profitable forms of business in the world. If these "profit centers" were truly an arm of ministry, they would be placed in destitute countries where no one can afford to pay. The Vatican has the finances to address the world health, as well as the localized famines that exist.  The cost of health care is a world problem. Some societies structure the payment to the hospitals, by the government. The cost is still born by the people. In many cases the length of your hospital stay, and the amount of your care, will directly coincide with the limits of your insurance. If you think that these hospitals are an arm of Jesus Christ, consider what will happen if your insurance runs out, and you cannot pay.
