Why GigaOm Recognition Matters More Than You Might Think

When analyst reports come out, there’s always a temptation to treat them as a marketing checkbox. You get the badge, you put it on the website, and you move on. But when I read through GigaOm’s XDR Radar v5, I found myself genuinely excited about where the market is going, and why it helps validate the direction we’ve committed to as a Product team.

Let me share what stood out to me and why I think it matters, for our customers, our partners, and for anyone trying to figure out how to make their security operations more effective in a threat landscape that grows more aggressive by the day.

The Market Has Reached an Inflection Point

GigaOm evaluated 25 XDR vendors this year. What struck me most in their analysis wasn’t any single vendor placement, it was the description of a market in transition. Buyers are moving away from best-of-breed point tools and toward unified platforms that can correlate activity across endpoints, identity, network, and cloud. They’re not just looking for detection anymore. They’re looking for detection that connects the dots across an entire attack path and automates the response before the damage is done.

That’s exactly the problem we’ve been focused on at Cynet. The fact that GigaOm is now framing the entire market conversation around that shift tells me we’ve been on the right side of this for a while.

What the Outperformer Label Actually Means

Cynet was named a Leader and Outperformer in the Innovation/Platform Play quadrant. I want to explain what the Outperformer designation means in GigaOm’s framework, because I think it gets undersold in how we talk about it.

Outperformers aren’t just vendors with good scores. They’re vendors whose trajectory is ahead of where the market is right now. GigaOm uses that label to signal that the pace of innovation is outrunning what the broader market has caught up to yet. Given that we just earned a perfect 5/5 score in Agentic AI, the capability GigaOm identifies as the most forward-looking emerging feature in the entire category.

We’re not chasing the market. We’re helping define where it’s going.

What This Means for Our Partners

I spend a lot of time talking to our partners, and one thing I hear consistently is that they need tools that help them have credible conversations with prospects who are overwhelmed by vendor noise. The XDR space is crowded, and it’s hard for a partner to walk into a room and explain why one platform is meaningfully better than another without sounding like a sales pitch.

The GigaOm Radar gives partners something different: an independent, rigorous framework for comparison. GigaOm evaluated vendors on threat detection, device discovery, case management, cloud security integrations, OT device integrations, agentic AI, scalability, flexibility, ease of use, ecosystem, cost transparency, and support. It offers a structured methodology that buyers respect.

When a partner can point to Cynet as a top-tier result in that kind of assessment, it changes the conversation. It moves the discussion from ‘trust us’ to ‘here’s what an independent analyst found.’ For partners building or growing a security practice, that kind of third-party credibility is genuinely valuable.

I’m also particularly proud of what GigaOm said about CyOps, our 24×7 MDR team. The report noted that our focus on integrating expert MDR services with a unified technology stack allows us to advance faster than traditional platform players. For partners who are serving mid-market customers, organizations that don’t have the budget or headcount to run a 24×7 SOC, that’s a direct answer to one of the biggest objections they face. Cynet is a force multiplier for security teams of any size.

What This Means for Our Customers

For customers already on the Cynet platform, this recognition is confirmation that the capabilities you’re already using are being recognized as best-in-class by an independent third party. The features GigaOm highlighted, like attack path visualization through Attack Story, UEBA-driven identity analytics, and native mobile threat protection, are all live in the platform today. If you’re not using all of them, I’d encourage you to reach out to your account team.

But beyond the current capabilities, I want to be transparent about what I’m most excited about for customers going forward: agentic AI. Our perfect score in this category from GigaOm reflects work we’ve been doing with CyAI, our AI engine that automatically remediates 90% of threats at scale with a false positive rate under 0.9%. That’s not a roadmap item. That’s running in production. And it’s just the beginning of where we’re taking automation in the platform.

The security operations challenge for most organizations isn’t a lack of data. It’s a lack of time, bandwidth, and expertise to act on that data fast enough. Every piece of the Cynet roadmap is oriented around reducing that gap. Detection and containment happen in seconds, not hours, without requiring a team of senior analysts to make it happen.

One More Thing Worth Saying

Reports like this one from GigaOm require vendors to submit to rigorous independent scrutiny. You don’t buy a good placement. You earn it through the product you’ve built and the results your customers have seen. Our 2025 MITRE ATT&CK evaluation results — 100% detection, 100% protection, 100% technique-level coverage with zero false positives and no configuration changes — are the same kind of proof. Independent, verifiable, and consistent.

I’m proud of what the team has built, and I’m genuinely optimistic about where we’re taking it. If you’re a partner or a customer who wants to dig into the full GigaOm report or talk through what any of this means for your specific environment, we’re here to help.
